lifecar

Partly funded by the UK Government, the Morgan Life Car was launched at the Geneva Show earlier this month. According to Morgan, the LifeCar’s purpose is to “demonstrate that a zero emission vehicle can also be fun to drive”.

The Life Car, based on Morgan’s Aero 8, uses hydrogen to generate electricity and says that the only emissions will be water. Morgan claims a range of 200-250 miles and sports car handling and performance.

hydro

Think about the Hydrocar instead of a remote control car next time a birthday rolls around. The Hydrocar, from Horizon, runs on water. Horizon claims this car can turn around obstacles by itself and the best part is it’s fun yet sneaks in some science and learning. The Hydrocar uses a special membrane to turn water into oxygen and hydrogen, which then powers the little beast.

The Hydrocar and its brother, the H-racer, are currently the world’s best selling fuel cell products.

Tesla Roadster

Tesla Roadster Recharging

Going back to what I was talking about, I’m really excited about these green products that people actually WANT. It’s a fully electric sports car that goes 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and gets 250 miles per charge. It has an electric motor which has instantaneous torque. You know when you’re on the freeway and you need to pass someone, so you put your foot down, your automatic transmission thinks for a little bit, lazily gets into gear, and then you finally accelerate? Well that won’t happen in this car.

Granted, it’s over $100,000, but it has the performance of a $100,000+ conventional sports car. I think Tesla is setting this up as a halo car, with more practical cars coming our way. If you plug it into your electric grid at night, we are talking less than $0.02/mile. My car currently gets 20mpg, at $3.40/gallon, we are talking about $0.17/mile. I know which one I’d pick.

Puma Glow-in-Dark Bike

I think the picture says it all. The coolest part about the bike, besides the glow, is that it is collapsible. I’m sure if raving was still the rage, someone would do some cool raving tricks which riding this thing freehand. It’s coming out this Spring but no word on whether or not it’ll be available at the Puma store next to all the cool shoes and hoodies.

The questions on my mind are:

1. How long does it stay glowing after the sun sets?
2. How can puma charge $1,600 for that thing?
3. Is Kanye gonna ride it on stage on his Glow In The Dark Tour?
4. Will I get beat up for riding that thing around town?
